Our Story

More than Great Food

The story of Castaways begins back in 1978, when the corner of Lake Road and Broad Street was just a corner store and fruit market.

Before Castaways became what it is Today, it all started with what was known as Anthony's Pizza and Fine Foods and the original founder Terry Moisio. 

​

Today, current owner Kristina Daugherty has literally watched what was once a dream of owning a pizza shop, finally come true.

 

Coming from a family who loves to cook and bake, it has always been a dream of mine to own my own restaurant.

The opportunity presented itself and I decided “it was either now or never” so I decided to take the plunge and bought the nostalgic Conneaut restaurant in 2013.

Shortly after purchasing the establishment, I soon changed the name to Castaways Pizza and Grill.

 

Not only do we love to serve great food but we feel it’s important to give back to the community that we love and support. You will see we do a variety of fundraisers to support local foundations,  our own public Easter Egg Hunt for the kids in the community and a Christmas Giveaway that supports shopping at other local business.

We love our town and our customers and look forward to being your favorite local food spot!

Our mission is provide great tasting food made with quality ingredients at a good price.  We use these key foundations of Castaways to ensure continued quality in all menu items served.
